there comes a time in making joinery one needs to balance strength of joints with the the "aesthetics" of said joints. In most cases the design calls for concealing the joinery technique so as to preserve visual continuity. There about came the idea for this "innovation" at crosscut studio for this very specific use case. >The requirement: How to construct a partition without seeing any screws or dowels on all sides of the cabinet as it isnt mounted against the wall and will be seen on all sides while in use. the answer "Concealed Dovetail Sliders" ## Design iterations ### Dovetail slider ![[iterations for dovetail clip.jpg|500]] consideration have to be taken to ensure that once the screws are screwed it would provide a tight fit but not too tight the partition isn't able to slide over these dovetails hence the later iterations introduced rounded corners. ### Dovetail Aligners ![[iteration for dovetail aligners.jpg|500]] Once mounted on the cabinet carcass its important that the dovetail sliders remain straight so that the partition is not installed askewed. ## Design Implementation ![[IMG_20260102_084054661.jpg|500]] ![[IMG_20260130_160952028.jpg|500]] ![[IMG_20260130_161320439.jpg|500]]
